PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp driving device capable of improving a service life of a discharge lamp.SOLUTION: One aspect of a discharge lamp driving device of the present invention comprises: a discharge lamp driving unit which supplies a driving current to a discharge lamp; a control unit which controls the discharge lamp driving unit; and a voltage detection unit which detects a voltage between electrodes of the discharge lamp. The control unit can execute first control and second control which supply a driving current containing DC current and AC current to the discharge lamp. When the voltage between the electrodes is not higher than a threshold voltage in a prescribed setting timing, the control unit executes the first control. When the voltage between the electrodes is higher than the threshold voltage in the prescribed setting timing, the control unit executes the second control. The ratio of DC current in the second control is larger than the ration of DC current in the first control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
