PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reduce density fluctuation caused by a sweep phenomenon occurring at the lower end edge in image data.SOLUTION: An image processing device includes: transfer means for reading out, from storage means, image data of a second area which contains a first region and comprises a larger number of plural lines than the first area, and successively transferring pixel values of respective pixels of the read-out area in an auxiliary scan direction perpendicular to a main scan direction; half-tone processing means for successively performing half-tone processing on the pixels of the image data in the second area; detection means for detecting an edge for a pixel group in the auxiliary direction in the second area; calculation means for calculating the consecutive number of black pixels from a pixel of interest to the edge detected by the detection means for each pixel in the first region; determination means for determining on the basis of the consecutive number whether the pixel of interest is corrected or not; and correction means for correcting the pixel of interest according to the determination result of the determination means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
