Dry, solid molasses, in pieces or powder form, can be obtained by evacuating, from a dryer, the dry and completely melted product and then structuring the latter to give a solid product in another appts. The raw molasses are sent to a mixing tank to receive additives such as alfalfa flour, kaolin or NaCl; they then pass to a dryer which may consist of heated, horizontal rollers or of a vertical evaporator or of a spraying arrangement fed with heated air. The dried material passes over heated guides which direct the product to a cooling and solidifying appts. This consists of a vertical column which is traversed by an ascending current of cold air. The dry molasses solidify into filaments or pieces which can be collected and ground. |
