The animal toy moves along when pressed by a human touch. The toy comprises a first part (1) in the form of the front limbs (4, 5) of the anmimal, and part of the head (3) incorporating the top jaw (2). A second part (12) pivots on the first part (1) and looks like at least one back limb (8, 9), the body (7) and part of the head (3) comprising the lower jaw (6) of the animal. The pivot link (10) between the first (1) and second parts (12) is positioned at the junction between the top and bottom (2, 6) jaws of the animal. The front limbs (4, 5) and at least one back limb (8, 9) have elastomeric pieces for increasing the frictional adherence of the limbs (8, 9) onto a more or less flat support surface.
