PURPOSE:To drive in the best transmission efficiency in response to a load state by providing a twisting vibrator and a radial or longitudinal resonator perpendicular to its axis, and rotatably driving a rotor by the composite vibration. CONSTITUTION:A twist vibrator 1 of a supersonic motor is provided with electrostrictive element 3 as a drive element for generating twist vibration on both sides of a drive electrode plate 3, with vibrators 4, 5 formed with threaded holes 4a, 5a on axes, and with a central bolt 6 for clamping them. A disk-shaped resonator 7 vibrated radially and an electrostrictive element 8 of a drive element are interposed between the element 3 and the vibrator 5. The rotor 13 is rotatably supported on the shaft by a bolt 6. In this case, the resonator 7 is perpendicular to the shaft at the node of the vibrator 1 so that the resonance frequency and the twist vibration resonance frequency are equal. Thus, both vibrations are combined to form elliptical vibration, thereby controlling the rotating direction under an electric control. |
