A gas bubble device for metallurgical vessels consists of at least one refractory brick (1), a gastight sheet-metal cladding (2) and also a gas supply pipe (5) connected to the sheet-metal cladding. To simplify the structure of the gas bubble device and also its manufacture, the brick (1) has a cylindrical shape. In its circumferential region, the brick (1) is provided with a groove (8) running all the way round and the sheet-metal shell (3) surrounding the lateral circumferential region of the brick is shrunk on to the brick (1). In the process, a constriction (9) of the sheet-metal shell (3) is formed which extends a little into the groove (5) running all the way round and provides a positive seat for the brick (1) in the sheet-metal cladding (2). <IMAGE>
