Miniaturised transmitting and receiving device for a bidirectionally used optical waveguide (fibre) (8), having high crosstalk attenuation. An intermediate optical section of coaxially arranged optical waveguides (10 and 14) is located between the optical waveguide (8) and a light source (2) or a light receiver (light detector, light receptor, light sensor) (4). The hollow cylindrical optical waveguide (10) is optically coupled to the light receiver (4) and the cylindrical optical waveguide (14) is optically coupled to the light source (2). As a result of this measure, crosstalk between the light source (2) and the light detector (4) is reduced. In a preferred embodiment, an optically opaque layer (18) is additionally provided between the coaxially arranged optical waveguides (10 and 14), which layer encloses the light source (2) at least partially and shields it optically against the light receiver (4).
