Agents for removing human immunodeficiency virus and/or related compounds are manufactured by the use of a solid substance having a weakly acidic of weakly alkaline surface. The removing agents are used for treating the body fluid of a patient by, for example, extra-corporeal circulation system thereby effectively removing the human immunodeficiency virus and/or its related compounds contained in the body fluid, and prolonging the life the patient.
