A circuit for monitoring binary signal lines connects the lines (L1 ... Ln) via resistors to both poles of a voltage source (SV) and to inputs of comoarators (K1..Kn) whose other inputs are supplied with an adjustable reference signal. The outputs of the comparators are connected to an evaluation device (AW) which controls the level of the reference signal. Resistances (R12...Rn2) are connected in parallel with the binary signal generators (G1..Gn). USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in process control systems for rapid, reliable monitoring of binary signal carrying lines for open and short circuits in addition to detecting binary signal levels.
