<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate shock to be generated when the butting part of a relative rotation restricting means contacts the part to be butted, by furnishing a U-shaped torsion spring whose two ends are fixed to a component member of the steering wheel side transmitting system and a component member of the steering gear transmitting system. CONSTITUTION:A steering force transmitting system 1a is composed chiefly of a steering wheel 2, steering shaft 3 and drive force relay member 4, and an assist means 1b is provided to give an aid steering force to this steering force transmitting system 1a. This assist means 1b is composed of an aid force transmitting system 1c to transmit the drive force of a motor 19 to the mentioned steering force transmitting system 1a via a pinion 18 and a gear 61a on a ring member 6, which are meshing with each other, and a clutch mechanism 1d. A U-shaped torsion spring 9 is furnished, whose two ends 91, 92 are fitted in a detent groove 59, which is possessed by a protrusion 52 on a polygonal cam part 5 provided on the mentioned drive force relay member 4, and a detent groove 29 which is equipped with a spring guide 231 and which is owned by a protrusion 23 on an operational member 22 formed in a signal piece with a handle 26.</p> |
