Carpets comprising nylon fibers which have been coated with stainblocker and subjected to dry heatsetting conditions (e.g. 200 DEG C.) are continuously dyed with acid dye liquor to deep shades of color by adding certain slats (e.g. ammonium sulfate) to the liquor.
