PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an optically active amino acid from a 5-substituted hydantoin by isolating a hydantoinase gene and an N-carbamyl-L-amino acid hydrolase gene participating to transforming ability, amplifying and transcribing the gene and enhancing translating activity and preparing a recombinant body enhanced in production amount of the enzyme to be obtained by using bacteria belonging to the genus microbacterium having ability to convert the 5-substituted hydantoin to an optically active amino acid. SOLUTION: This DNA for coding for hydantoinase has a base sequence described in the sequence number 1 of the sequence table and codes for a protein having hydantoinase activity. This DNA for coding for N-carbamyl-L-amino acid hydrolase has a base sequence described in the sequence number 3 in the sequence table and codes for a protein having N-carbamyl-L-amino acid hydrolase activity. |
