PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing device, and a polishing method capable of highly accurately polishing a floating surface of a magnetic head by reducing a machining level difference, and restraining the occurrence of a scratch in a low bar state of continuing a plurality of magnetic head sliders. SOLUTION: For attaining the purpose, an L-shaped slide plate for installing a work holder on a slide guide is firmly held by an angle adjusting device so as to almost regularly hold an angle formed by a polishing object surface of a work and a polishing surface of a polishing surface plate, a reciprocatably driving device for installing the angle adjusting device on a slider table is firmly held on a bridge, and this bridge is arranged in the shape of straddling the polishing surface plate. |
