PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic imaging device and process cartridges, in which detection is surely made for the electric connections between the cartridges and the device body and linkage of driving between the cartridges and the body, when the process cartridges are mounted on the main body of the device. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic imaging device A is connected to respective electrostatic contact points 40 of plural process cartridges B and grounding contact points 23a (23c) and plural electrostatic electrodes 41a and grounding electrodes 23b of the device body A. Having mounted a plurality of process cartridges to the body A and having rotatively driven a plurality of electrophotographic photosensitive bodies 7, while plural process cartridges are mounted on the device body A, a high voltage is simultaneously applied to a plurality of electrostatic means 8 from an electrostatic high-voltage power supply 14. At this time, electrostatic currents are detected by an electrostatic current detecting means 201. An electrostatic current comparing means 202 of the body A compares the electrostatic currents with a prescribed value to determine whether or not the currents satisfy the value. A mounting condition detecting means detects a un-mounted condition or a faulty mounting condition of the cartridges by the means 202. |
