PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a filter for display device having excellent contamination resistance, flawing resistance and working resistance, and having an antireflection property, by coating the surface of inorg. film of the outermost layer with a surface reforming film having a specific surface energy. SOLUTION: The filter 10 display devices is provided with the antireflection film 2 on the one surface of a transparent substrate 1 and a surface modifying layer 3 is formed on the upper surface thereof. The outermost surface layer of the antireflection film 2 mainly comprises silicon dioxide. The surface of the antireflection film 2 consisting of the single layer or multiple layers is coated with the surface reforming layer 3 having the specific surface energy. The polarity term component γ<p> of the surface energy of the surface reforming layer 3 is >=2.0erg/cm<2> . Above all, the surface reforming layer is formed by using a coating compsn. contg. the water repelling group-contg. alkoxy silane compd. expressed by the formula Rf - X-Si(OR1 )3 }j . In the formula, Rf is a water repelling group, X is a bivalent org. group, R1 is an unsubstd. or substd. univalent hydrocarbon group, j is 1 or 2. |
