Washing machine door lock

The lock for the door or cover of a washing machine, with a rotating drum, has a locking bolt in the mechanical working path between the door push and the switch. Its position is shifted by a heated bimetal unit and also through an electromagnet. When the bimetal component is heated, and the electromagnet is not energised, the bolt blocks the working path. The path is released when the bimetal unit is unheated, and the electromagnet is energised.
