PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which the image position is corrected appropriately when a sheet feed stage being used is switched due to sheet end in the way of printing and the print quality is not varied. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a plurality of sheet feed means, e.g. cassette sheet feed stages, a sheet feed stage information acquiring means, e.g. a sensor for detecting the sheet size, the residual quantity of sheets, and the like, a sheet feed stage characteristics holding means, e.g. a memory for holding the sheet position adjusting information of each cassette sheet feed stage, a sheet feed stage adjusting means for calculating the image position adjusting information of each sheet feed stage, a raster image generating means, e.g. a PDL(page description language) rasterizer, an imaging means, e.g. an electrophotographic color printer, and a control means, e.g. a CPU, wherein image position adjustment suitable for a sheet feed stage being used is performed when the sheet feed stage is switched due to sheet end during print operation. |
