A receiver for receiving broadcast of multiplexed data on many channels, in which a channel of high bit rate providing a higher quality or more various service is automatically preset. More particularly, a digital broadcast receiver for receiving a signal representing time-division-multiplexed data of channels of different bit rates, comprises a data extracting means for extracting data on a specific channel from the time-division-multiplexed signal, a bit rate measuring means for measuring the bit rate of the specific channel, and a preset memory for storing received channel information, in which channel information is stored in the preset memory according to the value of the bit rate, and the data extracting means extracts data on the channel specified by the stored channel information, thus allowing a channel to be selected. |
