PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding system of continuous recording paper, allowing automatic carry-in of the continuous recording paper and the accurate folding of the continuous recording paper in order of the top at the position of the, scores and in the direction of the folds stored in the scores, independently of the interval of the scores of the continuous recording paper. SOLUTION: A printer has fold setting means of setting the direction of the folds of the continuous recording paper and paper length setting means for setting the interval of the scores of the continuous recording paper. A paper stacker determines a folding timing of the continuous recording paper and the direction of the folds of the continuous recording paper in accordance with the settings of the fold setting means and the paper length setting means. Further, the folding timing for the continuous recording paper and the direction of the folds of the continuous recording paper are determined in accordance with the detection results, the direction of the folds and the interval of the scores.
