A material for the mounting of the slide block (3) is constructed as a bearing plate (5) which as a prefabricated component is fastened to a part acting as a support (30). The connection between the bearing plate and support is produced at least partially by means of a form lock created by a chamber open on the side on the support and the bearing plate which fits in it. The chamber in the support has a longish base surface which extends between two ends in the direction of the slide track (45), with a rib-type wall (30a) at both ends. An Independent claim is included for a diesel engine for mobile or stationary applications and equipped with the proposed crosshead-slide block arrangement.
