<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple wavelength light generator in which the monitoring of wavelengths is unnecessary, whose cost is suppressed by simplifying devices even when the number of wavelengths becomes larger. SOLUTION: This generator is a multiple wavelength light generator which is to be used in a wavelength multiplexed optical transmission system and in which plural semiconductor light amplifiers 4-1 to 4-6 for performing four-light wave mixing, plural semiconductor optical amplifiers 5-1 to 5-5 for amplifying light intensity, plural optical demultiplexers 2-1 to 2-13 and plural optical multiplexers 3-1 to 3-6 are integrated. Then, this generator generates plural rays of light having respectively wavelengthλ1 toλ8 whose wavelength intervals are constant by repeating the four-light wave mixing in respective semiconductor optical amplifiers 4-1 to 4-6. As a result, it is possible to stabilize plural wavelengths only by stabilizing wavelengths only with respect to the wavelengthsλ1 toλ2 of original incident rays of light.</p> |
