PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce irregularity in fixing performance (heating performance) occurring because space between sheets of paper is shorter than the peripheral length of a pressure roller (pressure body) 20 and all the periphery of the pressure roller 20 is not warmed in the space between the sheets in the case of the second and succeeding sheets in consecutive printing in a heating device where a recording medium P is thermally processed in a state where it is held and carried in a heating nip part N. SOLUTION: By making fixing temperature high from the leading edge of the recording medium P to length obtained by subtracting length between the sheets from the peripheral length of the pressure roller 20, the heating values of a part where the roller 20 is warmed in the space between the sheets and that of a part where it is not warmed are compensated.
