PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print monitoring system capable of monitoring a printing device without imposing any surplus load on this system or devices constituting this system. SOLUTION: When it is judged that a printing job generated by printer deriver 11 is not printing to a local printer 14, the reading of an NULL job 31 set at the head of the printing job is omitted, and the printing jobs following a job start command 32 are preserved, and added with system ID, and outputted to a network printer 15. Thus, it is possible to monitor the state of the printer without transmitting any NULL job 31 being a surplus load to the network printer 15, and to constitute a comfortable printing system without imposing any surplus load on the printer, the network, and the system. |
