<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent inversion of a blade for a long period of time without remarkably increasing running cost and maintenance frequency. <P>SOLUTION: When the humidity of the inside of the apparatus is higher than a reference value and the process of consecutively forming images on paper of a small size in the main scanning direction is performed, the density of a sub-image to be formed in a non-image area is determined according to a humidity area (S9). A CPU 21 composites the image data on the determined density of the sub-image with the image data of the main image to be formed in an image area stored in an image memory (S10).
