APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING MESSAGE IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for transmitting a message in a mobile communication system are provided to effectively lower the PAPR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) of a reverse access channel. A message generating unit generates a short message to be transmitted in an uplink direction and spreads it through the first orthogonal spread codes. A preamble generating unit generates a preamble signal and spreads it through the second orthogonal spread codes. A phase shifter shifts phase of the first orthogonal spread codes by 90 degrees. An adder adds an output of the phase shifter and an output signal of the preamble generating unit. A transmission unit converts a signal outputted from the adder and transmits it.
