PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely set up the starting position for recording on the grooves of an optical disk. SOLUTION: In the optical disk presented by this invention, a track is formed by pairing wobbled grooves 3 with a land 5 located between the adjacent grooves, and address information for having access to the data to be recorded to the grooves and the like are preliminarily formed as a land prepit 5 on the land. Further, on the grooves 3, the combination of a front area 3a having the first data size and a data area 3b having second data size located behind the front area 3a is repeatedly arranged, the land prepits formed on the land are arranged at a prescribed interval for every combination in correspondence with the front area and the data area, and a front land prepit-detecting window area 3a2 for reading only the front land prepit 5a located in the front in correspondence with the front area by means of a laser power of fixed value without modulation when the data are recorded is arranged in the front area 3. |
