<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the forward movement of a fuel tank fastened under the floor of a vehicle body when the vehicle is subjected to a sudden acceleration, and to simultaneously reinforce the floor-cross-members and floor-side-members under the floor of the vehicle body. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel tank installation structure of a vehicle has a fuel tank 1 fastened for sustenance by a support belt 7 at a position nearer to one floor-side-member 3, to under the floor which is provided with right and left floor-side-members 3 along the under-surface of the floor panel 2 of the vehicle body and cross-members 4 which keep up-to-down width narrower than that of the floor-side-members 3 and are installed along the under-surface between the right and left floor-side-members 3. A brace 6 made of a plate body is installed opposite, in proximity with, the front surface 11 of the fuel tank 1 while its upper edge rim 64 is coupled with the floor-cross-member 4, whereas one end rim 65 of the brace is coupled to the lateral surface 31 in the vehicle interior side of one floor-side-member 3, thus the presence of the brace 6 prevents the movement of the fuel tank 1 in a forward direction while reinforcing the floor-cross-members 4 and floor-side-members 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
