<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of preventing mold growth on an object provided at the side of a blowout port, and also capable of uniformly purifying and humidifying an atmosphere, without lowering the degree of the purification of air. <P>SOLUTION: In this air cleaner, air sucked by a blower 8 is purified, humidified by a humidifier 17, and blown out of the blowout port having an air direction plate 12. A humidity sensor 42 detects the humidity of the blown-out air, and a distance sensor 45 detects a distance to the object provided at the side of the blowout port.
