PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine suppressing change of output of the internal combustion engine even if deposits are attached to an exhaust valve. SOLUTION: In the control device adopted for the internal combustion engine 1 wherein a plurality of exhaust ports 8 are provided for a same cylinder 2, a first branch passage 9 for introducing exhaust gas to a turbine 6b of a turbo supercharger 6 is connected to an exhaust port 8a and a second branch passage 10 for introducing the exhaust gas to an exhaust gas passage 4 while detouring the turbine 6b is connected to another exhaust port 8b, a variable valve mechanism 21 for varying the maximum lifting quantities of exhaust valves 20 provided for the respective exhaust ports 8 is provided, and the maximum lift quantity of each exhaust valve 20 is corrected by controlling action of the variable valve mechanism 21 so that output of the internal combustion engine 1 operated under a predetermined operation condition is adjusted to a target output under the predetermined operation condition.
