Described is a method for generating a heterodyne laser beam by means of two different laser sources, uses two laser sources stabilized in frequency and controlled in an independent manner, this method establishes the incorporation of two collinear lasers in a same beam, which produces a homogeneous beam formed by two linearly polarized beams travelling in orthogonal planes. This method is easy to implement due to the absence of active optic elements inside or outside the resonant cavity for the generation of two wavelengths and may be implemented by digital electronic controls that reduce the discrete components present in an analogical control; the control may be built in a reduced space with the ability of stabilizing both lasers with a single processing unit, thus making possible the construction of heterodyne laser sources with a suitable size and weight for being used in interferometric measurements of linear displacements and speed. |
