PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a desired character string or a candidate word without regard to a candidate word prediction function.SOLUTION: An input support apparatus having multiple kinds of candidate word prediction functions, to support character input by use of one of the candidate word prediction functions includes: a storage section for storing information to be defined based on user input operation, as retention information; a candidate word prediction function estimation section 25 which calculates scores of occurrence probability of each of the candidate word prediction functions, by use of the retention information, and compares the calculated scores, to estimate at least one candidate word prediction function from the candidate word prediction functions; and a candidate word prediction function switching section 21 which selects the estimated candidate word prediction function to be used.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
