PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for supply of a hydraulic fluid in a lockup state by adding a simple structure to a hydraulic circuit which is applied to a conventional torque converter.SOLUTION: A lock-up device includes: a first clutch part 28; a piston 30; a dog clutch 32; a first hydraulic port P1; and a drain port Pd. The first clutch part 28 is operated by a hydraulic fluid. The piston 30 is disposed between the first clutch part 28 and a turbine 4 and transmits torque from the first clutch part 28 to the turbine 4. The dog clutch 32 has a connection member which is operated by the hydraulic fluid and may mechanically connect a front cover 2 to the piston 30. The first hydraulic port P1 supplies the hydraulic fluid which operates the first clutch part 28 and the connection member of the dog clutch 32. The drain port Pd releases connection made by the connection member of the dog clutch 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
