PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide device and an optical device that can increase the near field diameter of a light in an optical transmission part of an optical transmission element and can reduce the length of an element of an optical waveguide substrate, in optical coupling of the optical waveguide substrate to another optical transmission element.SOLUTION: An optical waveguide substrate 1 includes: a supporting substrate 15; a clad 14 on the supporting substrate 5; and a core 2 on the clad 14 for propagating lights, having an entrance part 2a for receiving entrance of lights and an exit end surface 2b emitting the propagated lights. The exit end surface 2b of the core 2 has a concave part 5 recessed with respect to an exit-side end surface 14a of the clad 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
