PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, which can accurately estimate the PSF (point spread function) unique to each lens.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an image pickup element, an image extraction unit, an information acquisition unit, a reference image generation unit, and an estimation unit. The image pickup element images a diagram on a predetermined chart through an optical system, and converts the optical image formed by the optical system into electric signals. The image extraction unit extracts the formed image representing the diagram on the chart from the image formed by the electric signals converted by the image pickup element. The information acquisition unit acquires information related to the size of the diagram on the formed image. The reference image generation unit generates a reference image with a size corresponding to the diagram on the formed image on the basis of the information. The estimation unit estimates the point spread function so that the image obtained by applying the point spread function to the reference image approximates to the second formed image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
