The acoustic warning unit is designed to inform a driver, on opening the vehicle door to leave, that the headlights are still switched on. A plug with a cable is attached to the dipping terminal and the cable is attached to the warning unit. The unit is placed on the driver's side behind the instrument panel. A cable connects the unit with the door switch of the internal light where it is coupled to the positive terminal. When the door is opened with the dipped headlights on, the circuit is closed and the warning unit is actuated.
