PURPOSE:To form a color image having a high-precision spectral transmission characteristics and a high-density colored image, by causing a cationic dye to be adsorbed to a transparent polymer layer having a given pattern formed by adsorbing a dye having at least an anionic group such as SO3 at its terminal group. CONSTITUTION:A polymer film, such as casein, gelatin, or PVA is formed on a substrate of glass or the like. and allowed to adsorb or impregnated with a dye having an anionic group, such as SO3<-> or COO<-> at its terminal group in a given pattern to form the first color pattern. Then, the polymer adsorbs or is impregnated with a cationic dye. When the polymer does not adsorb the cationic dye, the anion group of the adsorbed anionic dye adsorbs the cationic dye, so the first pattern is well dyed by the second dye. Accordingly, a colored image requiring high-precision spectral transmission characteristics or high density color is formed by >=2 color dyes, thus permitting a color separation filter for use in an image pickup tube or a solid-state image scanner, etc. to be obtained using organic dyes. |
