In filter cartridges it is disadvantageously possible that the adhesion between the filter paper web and the reinforcing and sealing ring at the end of the filter paper web breaks down. This breakdown is to be prevented. In a filter cartridge whose reinforcing and sealing ring is surrounded on the rim by upwardly projecting boundary ridges receiving one end of the filter paper body between themselves, the solution is carried out by at least the outer boundary ridge being provided with radial slots above the receiving surface, in which slots an adhesive compound (6) joined to the filter paper web (1) is anchored.
