PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gene capable of being expressed in human living bodies, capable of maintaining and regulating biofunctions exemplified by maintenance of pregnancy and mechanism of partus outbreak, and relating to various kinds of pathophysiology, and further to obtain a bioactive protein or peptide encoded by the gene. SOLUTION: It is revealed that the material of this invention is expressed in the human living bodies, especially in the tissue such as placenta, deciduas and amnion, and deeply corresponds to the maintenance and regulation of the biofunction, especially the maintenance of the pregnancy and the mechanism of the partus outbreak. The material is useful for the elucidation of the maintenance of the pregnancy, the mechanism of partus outbreak and the various kinds of the pathophysiology exemplified by its failure such as premature birth and toxemia of the pregnancy. The material has higher safety compared to a conventionally used medicine because of the biological component, and enables the decovery of a medicine also having a specific action. |
