PURPOSE:To attain high speed access and to prevent foreign matters such as a dust, etc., from entering into the optical path of an irradiating light beam specially at the recording time. CONSTITUTION:The members forming the optical path from a laser diode 1 to a focusing lens 9 are mounted on a movable supporting member 28 to make it as an irradiating means, and a light receiving means which receives a light beam reflected from an optical information carrier 18 by the irradiation of optical beam from the said irradiating means and consists of a half mirror 23 to detect each information from the said optical beam, optical detectors 15,16, etc., is mounted on a fixed supporting member 29. The irradiating means and light receiving means are hermetically sealed respectively, and the movable supporting member 28 mounting the irradiating means is moved in the radius direction of optical information carrier 18 by a coarse movement mechanism not shown in the figure at the seeking operation. |
