PURPOSE:To provide a service non-interruption program substituting device capable of executing program substitution in an on-line transaction processing system without interrupting service. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a data updating/recording means 3, a journal volume monitoring means 4 for monitoring the journal volume of the means 3 of which reflection of data updating from the 1st data storage area 2 to the 2nd data storage area 8 is not completed yet, a switching means 5 for acquiring the disappearance time of a journal from the means 4 and switching an uncorrected program to a corrected program, and a holding means 6 for temporarily holding a transaction processing request during the substitution of programs.
