PURPOSE:To reduce voltage difference between battery voltage and condenser voltage at the time of closing a switchgear so as to solve problems such as the fusion of a fuse and the damage of the switchgear in an air conditioner provided with a motor-driven compressor with a d.c. power supply as a drive source. CONSTITUTION:A condenser 11 is charged by a time constant determined by the resistance value of a resistor 8 and the electrostatic capacity value of the condenser 11. When an input voltage detecting means 7 detects the voltage of the specified value or more, a switchgear 3 is closed by a control part 6, and a motor-driven compressor is driven. In this case, prior to closing the switchgear 3 by the control part 6 at the time of the input voltage detecting means 7 detecting the voltage of the specified value or more, a second switchgear 4 is closed, and the condenser 11 is charged through a small resistor 9. Accordingly, even if battery voltage has risen from the charge starting time when the switchgear 3 is closed subsequently, voltage difference between battery voltage and condenser voltage is reduced so as to prevent the fusion of a fuse 10 and the damage of the switchgear 3. |
