The holder, designed to grip a contact lens while it is being fitted or removed, consists of a hollow members (1) with a tube (2) at one end, tipped by a suction cup (3). When the membrane is compressed it creates a suction which holds the lens onto the cup until a further pressure is exerted to release it, with the tube acting as a physical connection between the membrane and the cup, and also as a passage for the air. The holder can be equipped with a collar (5) which enables it to fit inside the lid (6) of a container (7) which holds a special liquid for contact lenses.
