The invention relates to an insert (1) intended to be inserted into an element (4) at least partly made of metal, such as the web of a rail of a railway, for the fastening of an electrical connection terminal (6), and which is constituted by a metal pin (2) provided with a tapered (frustoconical) head (2a) and with an extension (2b) and by a metal sleeve (3) having a flange (3b) of cylindrical external shape and the internal bore of which is, at least in part (3'b), tapered, the said head being intended to be inserted (threaded) into the sleeve, while the assembly is designed to be introduced into a cylindrical hole (5) made in the element (4) to be equipped. The invention is especially noteworthy in that the said sleeve has no slit. In addition, the flange (3b) is advantageously provided with an annular groove made in the region of its connection to the cylindrical external surface of the sleeve (3).
