WASTE TIRE TREATING METHOD AND KILN THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the powdering of pellets along with a reduction in damage to the internal wall of a kiln by introducing crushed pieces of rubber based wastes into a burner of the kiln as auxiliary fuel for firing. SOLUTION: A hood 2 is mounted at a discharge end of a rotary kiln 1 and provided with a burner 3. The burner 3 is arranged protruding into the rotary kiln 1 and designed to keep the temperature at about 1,300 deg.C inside the kiln 1. As a result, pellets in the kiln 1 are heated by radiation by flame or by heat transferred from a refractory brick heated by the radiation. The burner 3 is made up of a main pipe 3a and a branch pipe 3b and pulverized coal is introduced into the main pipe 3a as main fuel while crushed waste tire pieces are introduced into the branch pipe 3b as auxiliary fuel The waste tire crushed pieces to be introduced are adjusted to below 5mm in average diameter prior to use and the amount thereof introduced is set at below 20wt.% per the amount of the main fuel introduced.
