PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set whose functions are easily extended, the portable telephone system and its processing method. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a portable telephone set 1 having a memory section 17 storing a received program and a CPU 16 operated according to the received program, with a source computer (controller) 3 storing plural programs started in the portable telephone set and supplying the programs, and the source computer 3 specifies a program based on data received by the portable telephone set 1 via a telephone line 2 and sends the program to the portable telephone set 1. The memory section 17 of the portable telephone set 1 stores the received program and the telephone set 1 starts the program.
