PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the solid image pickup device capable of substantially abating the fixed pattern noise. SOLUTION: One-side electrode of a transistor is provided with sample hold capacity means CSH through a clamp capacity means as well as a signal line 55 connected to the sample hold capacity means CSH, furthermore, a control means so as to clamp a specific potential VCP by the clamp capacity means CCP, so that the difference signal VCP-ΔVS between this potential VCP and the net picture element signal potentialΔVS may be controlled to sample hold, by the sample hold capacity means CSH through the clamp capacity means CCP, as well as to successively read out the sample hold potential VSH through the signal line 55.
