A graphics-system texture memory (21) contains a plurality of texture maps, each of which represents a common texture image with a different spatial resolution. A given map's data that represent one region (66) in a texture space (58) is contained in a memory block (Block_0) that holds other maps' data for the same region, while a separate block (Block_1) contains that map's data representing a different region (74). This organization reduces the occurrence of memory-page changes during the computation of a display-pixel value.

|
