PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peak detecting device which can detect a peak of an analog signal accurately in a short time even on a low-speed sampling scheme. SOLUTION: An interpolation processing part 25 calculates interpolation data for interpolating points in each period between sampling points of a predetermined period Ts, at each sampling point original data being obtained by A/D transformation, by means of a convolution operation of a series of pulses and the following interpolating function: H=[sinx)/x]×W (x) where, x=π.t.Ts and W (x) is a monotonously varying window function having x=0 in a center of its argument region, taking unity when x=0 and almost 0 when x=±p. Peak value detecting means 30 finds a peak value of an analog signal on the basis of the sampling data and the interpolated data.
