<p>A technique for the continuous production and laying of cold or emulsion macadam on a road or other hard surface involves the use of mobile apparatus containing a mixing chamber (6) in which the macadam is made up from its raw materials. The mobile apparatus includes means (7) for depositing a primer layer of binder on the surface to be covered, before feeding the macadam onto the surface.
