PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the waterproof property and the dust-proof property without requiring a large space by fitting an annular shield plate to cover a seal outside in the axial direction of the seal and with intervals. SOLUTION: A rolling bearing 1 comprises an inner ring 2 fitted to a shaft 7, an outer ring 3 fitted to a housing 8, a ball 4 provided between the inner and outer rings, and a seal 5 fitted between the inner and outer rings. A flat metallic shield plate 6 is held and fitted between a flat surface of the inner ring 2 and a stop ring 9 outside in the axial direction of the seal 5. Thus, the seal itself is not directly collided with water or foreign matters, and because the shield plate 6 is opposite to the seal 5 with intervals therebetween, a labyrinth is formed between the seal 5 and the shield plate 6. Thus, even if water or foreign matters enter between the seal 5 and the shield plate 6, they are scattered by the centrifugal force. No large space is increased because the rolling bearing itself and its peripheral structure are not improved. |
